Do you plan everything or just let the story flow?

I always attempt to write an outline to help guide me through a story; however I always tend to write freely with fresh ideas, and let the story flow in its own direction. Coming to think of it, I’m pretty sure that the original outline of Eighty-Eight Keys is quite different then the actual manuscript.

Do your characters ever want to take over the story?

I think the most challenging part about writing Eighty-Eight Keys, is keeping the connection between all the characters. Sometimes, a certain character can have so much personality, that it can almost create another story on its own.

What is your favorite food?

My mother cooking – it’s the only time I can really have a home-cooked meal, since I’m a disaster in the kitchen.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Neither – I’m more of a mid-day person.

Where do you dream of traveling to and why?

Alaska! The glaciers and snow-top mountains are beautiful. Oh, how I would love to be trapped in a small cabin for days, with a wood-burning fireplace, a suspense novel, and of course a bag of marshmallows.

Do distant places feature in your books?

Eighty-Keys have a few scenes in Las-Vegas and I’m an East-Coast girl.

Do you listen to music while writing?

No- as they say in the movies “Silence is Golden”

Could you tell us a bit about your latest release?

Eighty-Eight Keys is a novel about a young woman name Leah who is trying to break free from a strict religious background and pursue her dream as a pianist in the world of show business. While trying to find her independence her heart is held captive by Jason Rowe a local basketball star who established an organization to help troubled youth. When Jason is found murdered in his home, Leah is determined to get answers from a closed investigation. During her state of emotional turmoil, Leah finds comfort not only in the melody of her music, but in the arms of a married man named Calvin. With her dreams at her fingertips, Leah is tangled in a web of lies and deceit. Despite the fear of learning the truth, Leah has to realize that only the truth can set her free.

What have you learned about writing and publishing since you first started?

That writing is a passion, publishing is a business.

Is there anything you would do differently?

Nope- I never take anything for granted.

Who, or what, if anything has influenced your writing?

Life is the inspiration behind everything that I write. I think life itself is one giant story book filled with adventure, sorrow, joy, obstacles, and victories.

Anything you would say to those just starting out in the craft?

Never give up on your dream. I know the road of becoming a published author can be challenging, but never give up on telling the world your story.

What are three words that describe you?

Three words that would describe me would be: Indescribable, indefinable, unexplainable

What's your favorite book or who is your favorite writer?

It’s hard for me to have a favorite book…I love to many to count….and It’s hard for me to have a favorite writer, when so many has inspired my life in so many ways.
