Charity Simmons is not your average teenage girl - she lives for early mornings in the great outdoors rather than all night parties. Contented with her life, but not satisfied, Charity wishes for a change to occur to involve her more in the life of the adults she idolises both at school and in her day to day life. In a dramatic turn of events Charity finds herself sucked into a vortex of lies, love, sex and drama as she sets about solving a fifty year old mystery that uncovers more than just a skeleton in the closet.
A Note From the Author:
My debut novel in the story of the seventeen year old teenage sociopath Charity Simmons who at the beginning of her final year at high school is longing for a little bit more excitement in her life. When a family tragedy uncovers a fifty year old mystery, Charity cannot help but dive right in. However, on her quest into the adult world Charity soon finds herself getting more than she bargained for as she embarks on the untangling of a complex web of lies, love, sex and friendship. The first in the Her Salad Days series, Cornflower Blue just scrapes the surface of the turbulent late teenage years of Charity Simmons.
This is not a series for the fainthearted, and is by no means aimed at a certain 'type' of reader. The Her Salad Days series has elements of modern fiction, young adult, mystery, romance and black comedy.
