About the Author:
If, to quote Robert Louis Stevenson, to forget oneself is to be happy, than Angelina J. Windsor is most happy when she is immersed in the lives of my characters. Writing is all about giving your heart and soul to your storytelling. Obsessed with ideas and writing since she was one of those, the dreaded teenage poet, she spends time every day bringing worlds to life. For that journey she is humbled and grateful.
She writes in multiple genres (multi-published) across the writing spectrum, from hard science fiction to sweet romance, though she is quite drawn to racy characters that have plenty of attitude to spare. She can only hope her books touch your life albeit briefly in our busy world, and give you moments of absolute freedom as you fly with her to other worlds. Thanks for reading! And may all your stories have a happy-ever-after.
Do you plan everything or just let the story flow?
Hello, and thanks for having me here with you today!
I’ve done it both ways. My first books I just let the characters fly and take over. Then, I discovered sometimes they led me down a blind alley and I had to help them out, losing thousands of words in the process. Now, I tend to make sure my idea is sound by taking the time to write out the important plot points while I am seeing the characters come to life in my mind. It’s definitely a balancing act.
Do your characters ever want to take over the story?
Sure, and sometimes that works great, and sometimes they get out of hand!
What is your favourite food?
Protein. I seem to need a lot of it to keep my blood sugar even.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
More morning, though I have been both. I write 7 days a week, mornings for sure, and then depending on my schedule, I will get back to it soon as all my other tasks are done.
Where do you dream of travelling to and why?
I travel so much in my stories that I feel no real urge to travel.
Do distant places feature in your books?
Definitely. I love, love research. I travel to all sorts of places due to the magic of the internet.
Do you listen to music while writing?
Never. I need absolute quiet to hear my characters.
Could you tell us a bit about your latest release?
Ah, The Power of Tess, is quite special to me. It is the first book picked up by a publishing company I have been dreaming of writing for all my life: Ellora’s Cave Publishing. The story is about a college age girl who needs a huge amount of money ASAP. To get it she will have to bend her strong Southern morals to the point she will offer her virginity to the highest bidder in an auction. She grows up during the story while discovering her own inner power.
What have you learned about writing and publishing since you first started?
Gosh, enough to fill a book I think. The industry is in flux, constantly shifting and changing. Fascinating time to be a writer with so many options at your disposal.
Is there anything you would do differently?
Not really, I have tried to have good dealings with everyone taking to heart my grandmother’s words, “If you can’t say something good about someone, don’t say anything at all!”
Who, or what, if anything has influenced your writing?
I read a lot and have done all my life. Everyday, in fact, and lots on how to improve your writing as well. It’s very important to read. I can’t stress that enough.
Anything you would say to those just starting out in the craft?
Write, read, dream. It’s all good. And believe in yourself.
What are three words that describe you?
Strong, focused, intelligent. (When I need a mantra to feel good about myself after stress, I repeat over and over, “Strong and Beautiful”.)
What's your favourite book or who is your favourite writer?
So many, the list is endless and still growing.

The Power of Tess
by Angelina J. Windsor
Ellora's Cave
Tess is a sheltered Kentucky girl attending college in Los Angeles. In desperate need of fast cash for her grandmother’s medical bills, she answers an online “modeling” ad showing people having the kind of fun she’s never experienced. She’s all for it until she discovers what the position is really for. She’s never even had sex, for heaven’s sake, and now they want her to do what?!
Jonathon, filling in for his sister to run Rosemère Agency, an exclusive escort service, offers her a job with a twist. All her clients will be hands off until the end, when she’ll lose her virginity to the highest bidder. Jonathon promises the payout will be spectacular. Torn between lust for her off-limits boss and her need for money, Tess must use her power as a woman to find a way to save both her self respect and her grandmother.
