Do you plan everything or just let the story flow?

I like to plan out the story; sometimes as I’m working I might get an idea and go in a different direction then what I had intended.

Do your characters ever want to take over the story?

They sure do and they can be very stubborn, but sometimes I let them have their way!

What is your favorite food?

It changes; right now my favorite food is the Dove ice cream bar. They are amazing.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

I’m a night owl.

Where do you dream of traveling to and why?

I’m planning a trip to Ireland, I like to say it’s for research but I’ve always wanted to travel there. A few of my friends and I are planning a trip and because there will be a layover in England we are planning on extending our trip to include London.

Do distant places feature in your books?

Yes, I’ve written books that are set in Hawaii, New Orleans and parts of Mexico.

Do you listen to music while writing?

Yes, I do!

Could you tell us a bit about your latest release?

Murder on Mars is a mystery suspense, it begins with sixteen year old Ava Lopez arriving in New Orleans after learning that a good friend of hers has disappeared. She begins to track him down by piecing together what he had been doing the last few days before he disappeared; she discovers a hidden world within the city.

What have you learned about writing and publishing since you first started?

That it is constantly changing and growing.

Who, or what, if anything has influenced your writing?

Writing is something that I’ve always enjoyed. One of my aunts, her name is Cecelia, writes and my cousins and I grew up on her stories.

Anything you would say to those just starting out in the craft?

Just stick with it and follow your passion.

What's your favourite book or who is your favourite writer?

I love Agatha Christie and her Hercule Poirot mysteries.
